Description

Cartalax (also known as AED or Ala-Glu-Asp) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator developed by the Russian Khavinson research group.

It is designed as a tissue-specific cytoregulator that is proposed to enter chondrocytes (cartilage cells) and other connective-tissue cells, where it modulates gene expression. This is thought to support production of cartilage matrix components such as type II collagen and proteoglycans (e.g., aggrecan), while potentially reducing matrix-degrading enzymes and cellular senescence markers.

It is marketed primarily for joint/cartilage health, osteoarthritis support, and age-related connective-tissue decline. Evidence consists almost entirely of in-vitro and animal studies from the originating research group; independent replication and human clinical trials are very limited or absent. It is typically taken orally or sublingually as a research/supplement compound and is not approved as a pharmaceutical drug in major regulatory jurisdictions.
